UI Context for Agents is a Chrome extension made by Rahul Mishra. It does not collect, transmit or sell any data. Everything it handles stays in your browser.
What it stores, and where
- The comments you write and the details of the elements you mark (CSS selector, text, classes, position, and component name and source file where the page exposes them) are stored in the extension's storage in your browser, on your device only.
- Screenshots you attach to a comment are stored the same way.
- A prompt you edit by hand is stored with that page's comments.
- Your settings (output detail, marker colour, the checkboxes and the toolbar's position) are stored the same way.
- Comments and screenshots that have not been changed for 7 days are deleted.
What leaves the extension
- When you press the copy button, the prompt text, and one image if you attached screenshots, are put on your clipboard. Where you paste them is up to you.
- Nothing is sent to any server. The extension has no server, no account, no analytics and no advertising.
What it reads
- The extension can read a page only after you click its icon or press its shortcut on that tab.
- On a page running a React development build, it re-reads that page's own script files, from the page's own address, to find the line where an element is written. It makes no other network requests.
Permissions
- activeTab: lets the extension work on the tab where you clicked its icon, and take a screenshot of an area you drag.
- scripting: adds the toolbar to that tab and reads component names from the page.
- storage: keeps your comments and settings in your browser.
Removing your data
Deleting a comment, or pressing "Delete all", removes it and its screenshot at once. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored.
