When you report a problem, please include:
- your Chrome version (the address
chrome://versionshows it) and your operating system; - the page you were on, or the framework it is built with if the page is private;
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead;
- the copied prompt, if the problem is in what it says.
Starting and stopping
The icon shows a "!" and nothing happens
Chrome does not let any extension run on its own pages: addresses that start with chrome://, the Chrome Web Store, and the new-tab page. Open an ordinary web page and click the icon there.
The toolbar disappeared when I went to another site
The extension is allowed on a tab only after you click its icon, and Chrome ends that permission when the tab moves to a different site. Click the icon again. Reloading, or moving between pages of the same site, keeps the toolbar.
I cannot click anything on the page
While you are annotating, clicks go to the extension so that links and buttons do not fire. Press Esc to use the page normally; your markers stay. Click the cursor button on the toolbar to annotate again. The setting "Block clicks on the page while annotating" turns this off.
The keys P, H, L, R, C and X do nothing
They work only in annotate mode (the cursor button is lit) and not while you are typing in a comment. To change the shortcut that opens the extension, Alt+Shift+A, go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
The toolbar is in the way
Drag it by the dotted grip at its left end, or by any gap between buttons. It stays where you leave it.
Comments and markers
My markers are gone
Markers belong to one page address and are kept in your browser. They are deleted when they have not been changed for 7 days, when you press X twice, and after copying if "Clear markers after copying" is on.
A marker is faded and sits in an odd place
The element it was attached to is no longer on the page, for example a menu that has closed. The marker stays at the last place the element was, and its comment is still in the prompt.
I cannot mark something inside an embedded frame
Content inside an iframe, such as an embedded video or a payment form, cannot be marked. Open that content in its own tab if it has an address of its own.
Something still moves after I press Pause
Pause stops CSS animations and transitions, videos, and animations that redraw every frame. Animations driven by a timer in the page's script keep running.
The prompt
There is no component name or source file
They are available only when the page is a development build of React, Vue 3, Angular or Svelte 5, such as a site running on your own machine. A published site has those names shortened by its build, so the extension leaves them out rather than print names that exist nowhere in the code. Line numbers are given for React 19 with Vite and for Svelte 5; Vue and Angular give the file only.
My screenshot did not arrive with the text
Copying puts the text and one image on the clipboard. In Claude Code, paste the text, then press Ctrl+V to attach the image. On a page served over plain http that is not localhost, Chrome gives no image clipboard, so only the text is copied and the prompt says so.
I took several screenshots but got one image
A clipboard holds one image at a time. Your screenshots are stacked in that image, each under a strip reading "Item 2", "Item 5" and so on, matching the item numbers in the text.
My edits to the prompt disappeared
A prompt you edit by hand in the review panel belongs to the comments it was made from. If a comment is added, changed or removed afterwards, or the output detail is changed, the hand edits are dropped and the prompt is built again so that it cannot miss a newer comment.
Your data
Comments, screenshots and settings stay in your browser and are sent nowhere. Removing the extension deletes all of them. The privacy policy has the details.
